Principal’s Letter
Hello Grand View Families,
As we enter the final stretch of the school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and partnership. It has truly been a wonderful year filled with growth, learning, and so many exciting opportunities for your child.
This month, we will be completing our end-of-the-year assessments. These tests help us reflect on each student’s progress and celebrate how far they’ve come. Please make sure your child is well-rested and ready to do their best!
We are also looking forward to celebrating all of our accomplishments with some fun end-of-the-year activities. More information about those events will be coming home soon—we hope you’ll be able to join us!
It’s been a joy to watch each student learn, grow, and thrive this year. Thank you for being a part of this special journey!
Francesca

Student Council is excited to be working on this year’s 5th Grade Legacy Project—an initiative designed to leave a lasting mark from every 5th grade class that passes through our doors.
We are creating a rock garden at the front of our school. Each 5th grade student will paint a rock, which will be added to the garden as a symbol of creativity, community, and school pride. Over time, this garden will become a vibrant and meaningful space that reflects the unique spirit of our school.
We are reaching out to request a donation of rocks for our current 5th grade class. There are 63 students and 3 teachers participating in the project, and we’d love your support in making this vision come to life.

STEM NIGHT
Please join us at the Innovation Center on Tuesday, May 6 for our annual STEM Night! We’ll have STEM activities, a Make and Take section, and content specific STEM events in each of our focus areas, which include: Artificial Intelligence, Aerospace, Biosciences, Cybersecurity, Digital & Virtual Design, Entrepreneurship, Robotics, and Video Production. In addition, we’ll have larger outdoor STEM opportunities, the Student Design Guild, and Cardboard Carnival Games! Come to play from 4:30-6:30. Want to be a part of the Student Design Guild and / or the Carnival Games? Check out the attached flier to see how YOU can participate!
All School Field Day
Pre-K – 4th Field Day is Thursday, May 15th at Grand View!
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The school year is winding down and the weather is getting much nicer outside (hopefully). Grand View’s Field Day, hosted by the Bison Brigade, will be held on Thursday May 15th (with a rain out date on Monday May 19th) on the Grand View field. For Fourth, Third, Second and AM preschool students, field day will be in the morning with events starting at 9:30. For First Grade, Kindergarten and PM Preschool students, field day will start at 1:15. Students will have their normal lunch period in the cafeteria, at their normal time.
Students will rotate through many different stations that will be run by the Fifth grade students (their own Field Day, at Frederick High School, is on May 1st). Some of the activities include the 50/25 yard dash, the giant parachute, a bouncy obstacle course, tug of war (for the older grades), and the obstacle course. Parents are welcome to come and watch their student(s) participate in field day activities.
Please be reminded that this is a celebration for the entire school and is meant to be an opportunity to have fun. Parents please cheer on your own child(ren), and be supportive of others. If a problem arises, notify the classroom teacher, or myself and we will handle the issue. The stations are meant for the students of the school, so please do not let your little ones interfere with the field day activities.
Children need to wear appropriate clothes for the activities. As we all know, Colorado weather can be 80 degrees one day, and 30 degrees the next, so PLEASE DRESS FOR THE WEATHER. Also, students should wear good athletic shoes. Crocs and sandals may be a good way to beat the heat, but they do not provide support for athletics. Finally, please make sure that your child puts on waterproof SUNSCREEN before school. THE PLAYGROUND IS OFF LIMITS.
If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me at [email protected].
Thanks again,
Marc Gorenstein

This will help us to provide the right amount of support for your student. All cell phones need to be kept in their backpacks
- If at any time you need to get a hold of your student, please call the front office and we will contact your student during school hours.
- If you are picking up your student during school hours, you must present a photo ID. Please remember to report your child’s absence or tardy to 303-702-8000 or email: [email protected]
- Our office staff is always available to answer your questions- 303-702-8000

ADDITIONAL REMINDERS
We have so few precious minutes with your children; we want to stay focused on their learning every moment! Therefore, to minimize classroom disruption, please keep in mind the following practices:
- Items such as lunches, coats, etc., must be dropped off at the front office.
- Office staff will then notify the teacher, who will have the student pick up the item when it is least disruptive to their learning (but in time for lunch!)
- Tardy students take their passes and head straight to the classroom as quickly as possible. Parents need to come into the building to sign the student in.
- After-school messages for students should be called into the office by 3:15 pm and reserved for unexpected/significant changes to after-school pickup.
- For early pickup, students will be called out of class once the parent arrives at Grand View. Please allow extra time when picking up your child. It takes a few minutes for the student to collect their belongings and make their way to the front office.
Thank you for helping us preserve our learning environment at Grand View Elementary!

These fees are now posted in Infinite Campus if you wish to pay online.
Thank you!
