Principal’s Letter
Hello Grand View Families,
As we wrap up the first part of the school year, we want to share our gratitude for the wonderful start we’ve had together. Your support, encouragement, and involvement have made a tremendous difference in our classrooms and school community.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for trusting us with your children each day. We are so grateful to work alongside such dedicated and caring families.
As we head into the holiday season, we wish you joy, rest, and special moments with loved ones. Please let us know how we can support your family during this time and into the new year.
Warmly,
Francesca

Grand View Elementary Library News: December Fun!
Hey there Grand View Families!
We are so happy to share what’s happening in our Library time during the month of December.
Holidays Around the World
Students will read books and participate in activities that teach them how holidays are celebrated by kids all over the world—learning about special traditions and celebrations from different cultures during library time. It’s a great way to celebrate our diverse world!
Festive Crafts & Giving
We’ll be incorporating fun, seasonal crafts into our scheduled library lessons. More importantly, we are focusing on getting into the true Spirit of Giving through stories and activities that emphasize kindness and helping others in our school community.
Don’t forget that students will also have the opportunity to continue reading over the winter break by accessing thousands of digital books through Sora! Keep those reading streaks going!
Mrs. Amy Markoch, Media Clerk
Health Office
The Health Office is in need of girls & boys pants and shorts of all sizes, PK-5th grade.
Preschool News
Our preschool community came together in a truly special way this month! Preschool families generously volunteered their time, creativity, and resources to build an exciting new Sound Wall for the children to enjoy on the playground, as well as a brand-new outdoor kitchen for rich, imaginative play. This meaningful collaboration between families, teachers, and children is exactly what makes Grand View such a warm, connected, and extraordinary place to learn and grow.

Registration for St. Vrain Valley Schools’ 2026-27 preschool programs begin Dec. 9, 2025. Families can choose from high-quality, five-day programs, including half-day and select full-day options at schools across St. Vrain. The Colorado Universal Preschool (UPK) application is included in St. Vrain’s form, and families are encouraged to apply early for the best chance of placement at their preferred school.

Art News
Our students have been working on a mix of new skills and creative projects. 5th, 4th, and 3rd graders are studying Monet. We are recreating his famous “Water Lilies” painting using pastels and paint. We are also sculpting lilies with recycled materials, cupcake liners, and paper plates.
1st and 2nd graders are working on craftsmanship and a variety of seasonal art. Students are also being introduced to mixed-media. They are learning how to mix multiple materials. Our little kinders are enjoying a bunch of drawing skills, songs, and small projects.
So proud of our artists!

Hug-N-Go Lane
When dropping your students off in the Hug-N-Go Lane, we need families to pull through to the south end of the lane. This will help alleviate the traffic on Aggregate Blvd and help students get to school on time. Please have your students ready with backpacks and other belongings so they can just be dropped off. If you want to get out of the car and help your students, please park in the front parking lot and help them get ready. The HUG-N-GO Lane needs to be quick and easy for all families. Also, please pay attention to the cars trying to get out of the HUG-N-GO Lane so we can allow others to go through the lane. We appreciate your attention to this matter and continued support to keep our students and families safe.
Reminder of Hug-N-Go Expectations from 8:45am-9:05am and 3:30pm-3:50pm
No parking in any area of the lane. If you need to help your child out/in the car, need to watch them walk into the building, would like to watch them until the bell rings, any scenario besides a quick drop off please utilize the parking lot.
Please pull all the way forward. This ensures that we are able to fit as many cars as possible into the drop off lane. Abrupt stopping or not pulling all the way forward can not only cause accidents, but it holds up the rest of the line. We understand that it could be a lot to ask your children to walk further to the door. But following these expectations helps our herd as a whole by ensuring all our students are getting into the building quickly and efficiently. We appreciate everyone’s patience during these busy times! Remember when in doubt, park in the parking lot.
Reminders for Families:
- Please remind your students they are not allowed to use electronic devices to call you during school hours. We would like them to come to the office to call parents, if necessary. This will help us to provide the right amount of support for your student. All cell phones need to be kept in their backpacks
- If at any time you need to get a hold of your student, please call the front office and we will contact your student during school hours.
- If you are picking up your student during school hours, you must present a photo ID. Please remember to report your child’s absence or tardy to 303-702-8000 or email: [email protected]
