Bison Blast – April 2026

Principal’s Letter

Grand View Families,

As we head into the final stretch of the school year, it’s important that we continue to finish strong! These last months are filled with meaningful learning opportunities, and students benefit greatly from staying engaged, focused, and ready to learn each day.

Our state testing window for CMAS will take place April 7th–April 17th for 3rd-5th grade students. During this time, students will have the opportunity to show all the growth they have made this year. We encourage families to help students do their best by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school on time.

Regular attendance is especially important during this time. Being at school each day and arriving on time helps students feel confident, reduces stress, and ensures they don’t miss important instruction or testing sessions. Every day truly counts as we wrap up the year!

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we can help all students finish the school year strong and celebrate their success!

Warmly,

Francesca

Spring into Learning in the Learning Commons!

April is blooming with excitement at Grand View Elementary! We are kicking off the month by wrapping up our Spring Book Fair in the Learning Commons on April 1st and 2nd. It’s the perfect time to grab some fresh reads for the season and support our school.

In the Library, our students are diving into stories about new life, growth, and all things spring. Beyond the books, we are keeping busy with creative bookmark coloring and hands-on learning through building challenges with Legos and marble runs!

As we round into the final two months of the school year, it is such a joy to see how much each student has grown since August. I am truly delighted to work with your children in the Library and beyond. Let’s finish the year strong! Gooooo Bison!

ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool

St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform.

After spring break, parents and guardians will receive an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications.

Visit the district website to learn more about ParentSquare.

Hug-N-Go Lane

When dropping your students off in the Hug-N-Go Lane, we need families to pull through to the south end of the lane. This will help alleviate the traffic on Aggregate Blvd and help students get to school on time. Please have your students ready with backpacks and other belongings so they can just be dropped off. If you want to get out of the car and help your students, please park in the front parking lot and help them get ready. The HUG-N-GO Lane needs to be quick and easy for all families. Also, please pay attention to the cars trying to get out of the HUG-N-GO Lane so we can allow others to go through the lane. We appreciate your attention to this matter and continued support to keep our students and families safe.

Reminder of Hug-N-Go Expectations from 8:45am-9:05am and 3:30pm-3:50pm

No parking in any area of the lane. If you need to help your child out/in the car, need to watch them walk into the building, would like to watch them until the bell rings, any scenario besides a quick drop off please utilize the parking lot.

Please pull all the way forward. This ensures that we are able to fit as many cars as possible into the drop off lane. Abrupt stopping or not pulling all the way forward can not only cause accidents, but it holds up the rest of the line. We understand that it could be a lot to ask your children to walk further to the door. But following these expectations helps our herd as a whole by ensuring all our students are getting into the building quickly and efficiently. We appreciate everyone’s patience during these busy times! Remember when in doubt, park in the parking lot.

Reminders for Families:

  • Please remind your students they are not allowed to use electronic devices to call you during school hours. We would like them to come to the office to call parents, if necessary. This will help us to provide the right amount of support for your student. All cell phones need to be kept in their backpacks
  • If at any time you need to get a hold of your student, please call the front office and we will contact your student during school hours.
  • If you are picking up your student during school hours, you must present a photo ID. Please remember to report your child’s absence or tardy to 303-702-8000 or email: [email protected]
  • Our office staff is always available to answer your questions- 303-702-8000
