Principal’s Letter

Dear Families,

March brings an important time for our intermediate students as they prepare for CMAS testing. Our teachers have been thoughtfully preparing students by reviewing key skills, practicing test-taking strategies, and building confidence so each child feels ready to do their very best. We are proud of the hard work our students have shown and will continue to encourage them to approach testing with a positive mindset and perseverance.

We are also looking forward to our upcoming drama performance and can’t wait to see our students shine on stage! It is always such a joy to celebrate their talents, creativity, and growth beyond the classroom.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support at home. Together, we help our students feel confident, capable, and ready to succeed.

Warmly,
Francesca

Our Mission

At Grand View, we empower curious, young leaders through an inclusive, loving and collaborative community rooted in empathy, trust, and integrity.

Our Vision

As a leadership focused school, Grand View fosters a nurturing environment where risk-taking is encouraged through hands-on learning and design thinking experiences. We focus on being open-minded while developing meaningful relationships and upholding high expectations.

Art News

Our students have been creating 3D and 2D art while recycling a lot! We wrapped up our mini house creations in 4th and 5th grade classes. Students created rooms with fake furniture and decorations. 3rd graders also made paper sculptures of animal faces, and used new folding techniques. I am thrilled with the level of creativity our students have to turn scraps into treasures of art. Many have expressed that they went home and made more creations with the same ideas. Shout out to all our GV parents who are supporting their imaginations, creativity, and art-making. I am so proud of the way they have been invested in their projects with curiosity and precise focus. K-2 has been exploring lots of familiar stories, like “To Give A Mouse a Cookie” to create artwork. We are working on our acrylic painting skills next with an emphasis on exploring a famous artist, and former teacher, Alma Thomas.

Hug-N-Go Lane

When dropping your students off in the Hug-N-Go Lane, we need families to pull through to the south end of the lane. This will help alleviate the traffic on Aggregate Blvd and help students get to school on time. Please have your students ready with backpacks and other belongings so they can just be dropped off. If you want to get out of the car and help your students, please park in the front parking lot and help them get ready. The HUG-N-GO Lane needs to be quick and easy for all families. Also, please pay attention to the cars trying to get out of the HUG-N-GO Lane so we can allow others to go through the lane. We appreciate your attention to this matter and continued support to keep our students and families safe.

Reminder of Hug-N-Go Expectations from 8:45am-9:05am and 3:30pm-3:50pm

No parking in any area of the lane. If you need to help your child out/in the car, need to watch them walk into the building, would like to watch them until the bell rings, any scenario besides a quick drop off please utilize the parking lot.

Please pull all the way forward. This ensures that we are able to fit as many cars as possible into the drop off lane. Abrupt stopping or not pulling all the way forward can not only cause accidents, but it holds up the rest of the line. We understand that it could be a lot to ask your children to walk further to the door. But following these expectations helps our herd as a whole by ensuring all our students are getting into the building quickly and efficiently. We appreciate everyone’s patience during these busy times! Remember when in doubt, park in the parking lot.

Reminders for Families:

  • Please remind your students they are not allowed to use electronic devices to call you during school hours. We would like them to come to the office to call parents, if necessary. This will help us to provide the right amount of support for your student. All cell phones need to be kept in their backpacks
  • If at any time you need to get a hold of your student, please call the front office and we will contact your student during school hours.
  • If you are picking up your student during school hours, you must present a photo ID. Please remember to report your child’s absence or tardy to 303-702-8000 or email: [email protected]
  • Our office staff is always available to answer your questions- 303-702-8000
