Welcome Back, Grand View Bison!

I am very excited to join the Grand View community this year! My name is Francesca Craver and I am honored to be joining you as the principal of Grand View. When I was hired for this position in the spring the district shared some information about my background and experience. However, I wanted to share more about who I am and introduce my family. 

I am a Colorado Native and grew up in Northglenn, CO. I graduated from Adams 12 Five Star Schools and then attended the University of Northern Colorado where I received my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and my Masters Degree in Special Education. I am currently working on my Doctoral Degree in Equity, Social Justice and School Policy. My anticipated graduation is this upcoming fall! My most recent position was serving as the principal at Malley Drive Elementary for the past six years in Adams 12. This will be my first year in the St. Vrain Valley School District:)

I am very blessed to have my wonderful family! I have three children who are the most important people in my life. My oldest daughter Isabella is 19, my son Vincenzo is 14, and my youngest daughter Niccolina is 13 years old. I can’t forget my greatest supporter, my husband Joshua, who is also an administrator in Brighton 27j. We love to go camping, fishing, and riding our ATVs as a family. When I am not working, I love to make cards to brighten up someone’s day and scrapbook our family memories.

I can’t wait to meet all of you and get to know your students! It is going to be a wonderful year of learning, growing, and building a strong community! When you see me outside in the mornings and afternoons, please come and introduce yourself. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, celebrations, or concerns.

Important Information:

*Soft Start: This year we will be implementing a soft start at the beginning of the school day. Students will be allowed to enter the school starting at 8:50. The tardy bell will ring at 9:00 and instruction will begin in their classrooms shortly after the bell. On late start days, students will be able to enter the building at 11:20am and the tardy bell will ring at 11:30am. 

*Hug N Go Lane: We need your help! In order to keep our traffic flowing we need to use the left lane for through traffic and the right lane for families to drop their students off. We will have staff members out to help students out of cars so we can keep the flow going. Please do not park in the Hug N Go Lane. Thank you!

Before Back to School Night:

• Your student’s teacher will be posted on the front doors of Grand View on Thursday, August 11th by 3:00pm. (Note: While we will make every effort not to make changes, this information is subject to change if movement is needed to balance classroom numbers.)

Back to School Night:

• Date: Friday, August 12th
• Time: 5:00-6:30pm
• What: Open House Style (Drop in anytime between 5:00-6:30pm to meet your student’s teacher. No formal presentations will be given.)
• Students are encouraged to bring in school supplies.

First Day of School for Grades 1st-5th:

• Wednesday, August 17th
• Students will line up with their teacher in the front of the building by 8:50am.
• Welcome ceremony will start promptly at 8:55am.
• Families will line the red carpet to welcome the students into the new school year.
• Students will walk the red carpet into the school as families welcome students back to school by cheering and taking pictures.
