Principal’s Letter

Hello Grand View Families,

As we come to the end of a wonderful school year, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your continued support and partnership. It has been a joy watching your children learn, grow, and celebrate so many successes throughout the year.

We are excited to finish strong and invite you to join us for the upcoming community events this month. These are great opportunities to come together, celebrate our students, and reflect on all they’ve accomplished.

Thank you again for being such an important part of our school community. We are proud of the incredible year we’ve had and look forward to celebrating with you!

Francesca

Message from Dean of Students

I want to share that I will be stepping into a new role next year as the Principal at Spark! Discovery Preschool. While I am incredibly excited for this opportunity, it is also bittersweet to be leaving Grand View.

Being part of Grand View has meant so much to me. I have truly loved my time as Dean of Students at Grand View, and I am so grateful for the relationships, experiences, and memories we have built together.

Grand View will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will deeply miss being part of this amazing community.

Library News – Happy May!

It is hard to believe we are entering the final stretch of the school year! It has been an absolutely wonderful year of discovery, and we are so grateful for the immense support and care you’ve shown our library community.

Celebrating AAPI Heritage Month

This month, we are proudly celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Students will be diving into stories by incredible AAPI authors and illustrators. Beyond the books, we’re getting hands-on with:

  • Art & Precision: Learning the traditional art of origami.
  • Language & Culture: Exploring the meaning and beauty of different Language symbols.

Summer Roundup: Book Returns

As we prepare to close the library for the summer break, we need your help! Please take a moment to look under beds and behind couches for any lingering library books.

  • Deadline: Please return all missing library books by May 11th.
  • Action: Please send back all library books so they can be tucked away safely for the summer.

Thank you for making this year so special. We wish you a month filled with great stories and a head start on a fantastic summer!

As the 2025-2026 school year comes to an end there is some important information and dates you need to know regarding your students medication:

1. Medication in the Health Office must be picked up by a parent/guardian no later than the last day of school on Thursday May 21 (any medication not picked up on the last day will be destroyed)

2. Medications for students in summer programs, such as Project Launch or Bison Bunch will need to be transferred by a parent/guardian. Medications can not be transferred by the school.

3. If your student has a current Health Plan, a new plan will be sent for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Health Plans and medication forms are good for one year from the signed date by your health care provider.

4. Immunization: Letters will be sent home regarding required vaccines for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year and will include vaccine exemption information.

As always please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns:

Art News

Hello GV families of our truly talented artists!

Students from 3rd-5th are working away on painting. We started some ocean creature paintings using liquid watercolor. 5th will also start their rock garden legacy project soon, just like last year’s 5th grade! Student Council, Mrs. Salaz, and 5th grade teachers are collaborating with me on that.

1st-2nd grade are working on their showcase pieces. We have been exploring new drawing techniques, compositional shape knowledge, and chalk pastels.

Finally, kindergarten is totally rocking their drawing skills along with scissor crafts, collage, and fine motor skill builders. We can finally use markers without loosing the caps! Haha! Thank you all!

Hug-N-Go Lane

When dropping your students off in the Hug-N-Go Lane, we need families to pull through to the south end of the lane. This will help alleviate the traffic on Aggregate Blvd and help students get to school on time. Please have your students ready with backpacks and other belongings so they can just be dropped off. If you want to get out of the car and help your students, please park in the front parking lot and help them get ready. The HUG-N-GO Lane needs to be quick and easy for all families. Also, please pay attention to the cars trying to get out of the HUG-N-GO Lane so we can allow others to go through the lane. We appreciate your attention to this matter and continued support to keep our students and families safe.

Reminder of Hug-N-Go Expectations from 8:45am-9:05am and 3:30pm-3:50pm

No parking in any area of the lane. If you need to help your child out/in the car, need to watch them walk into the building, would like to watch them until the bell rings, any scenario besides a quick drop off please utilize the parking lot.

Please pull all the way forward. This ensures that we are able to fit as many cars as possible into the drop off lane. Abrupt stopping or not pulling all the way forward can not only cause accidents, but it holds up the rest of the line. We understand that it could be a lot to ask your children to walk further to the door. But following these expectations helps our herd as a whole by ensuring all our students are getting into the building quickly and efficiently. We appreciate everyone’s patience during these busy times! Remember when in doubt, park in the parking lot.

Reminders for Families:

  • Please remind your students they are not allowed to use electronic devices to call you during school hours. We would like them to come to the office to call parents, if necessary. This will help us to provide the right amount of support for your student. All cell phones need to be kept in their backpacks
  • If at any time you need to get a hold of your student, please call the front office and we will contact your student during school hours.
  • If you are picking up your student during school hours, you must present a photo ID. Please remember to report your child’s absence or tardy to 303-702-8000 or email: montgomery_traci@svvsd.org
  • Our office staff is always available to answer your questions- 303-702-8000
School fees image
$10 Materials Fees are due as soon as possible. Fees can be paid at the front office either by cash or check or sent with your child to give to the classroom teacher.  This fee is required for every student in Grades K-5.

Thank you!

While we make every effort to accommodate as many eligible riders as possible, transportation services are provided on a space-available, and first-come, first-served basis.
