Bison Blast – February 2026

Principal’s Letter

Dear Families,

As we move through the school year, we want to take a moment to remind everyone how important it is for students to be at school each day. Consistent attendance plays a big role in helping children grow—not only academically, but socially as well. Each day builds on the last, and being present helps students stay connected to learning, routines, and friendships.

Parent-teacher conferences are coming up soon, and they are a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher and hear more about how your child is doing at school—academically, socially, and emotionally. We look forward to partnering with you during this important time.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Your commitment to your child’s education makes a meaningful difference, and we are so grateful to work alongside you as your children learn, grow, and thrive.

Thank you,
Francesca Craver

Our Mission

At Grand View, we empower curious, young leaders through an inclusive, loving and collaborative community rooted in empathy, trust, and integrity.

Our Vision

As a leadership focused school, Grand View fosters a nurturing environment where risk-taking is encouraged through hands-on learning and design thinking experiences. We focus on being open-minded while developing meaningful relationships and upholding high expectations.

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES ARE COMING!
The dates for the upcoming in-person conferences for K-5 are February 3, 5, and 11.  Our goal is to have 100% of our families meet with their child’s teacher on one of these three nights!
Don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or the front office to schedule a conference.

If parents would like to schedule a conference with the Specials Team, please let us know via email so that we may work with you to schedule a time.

The St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation is thrilled to announce that the Celebration of Excellence nomination form opens on January 12th! This cherished annual event honors outstanding educators from every St. Vrain school who exemplify excellence in their roles and make extraordinary contributions to student success.

We invite students, parents, volunteers, fellow educators, school staff, community members, and business partners to nominate exceptional educators who inspire, innovate, and shape the future. In order to qualify, nominees must be licensed educators in the State of Colorado and employed at a St. Vrain Valley Schools campus for the current school year. Educators who received their school’s Educator of the Year honor within the past two years are not eligible.

Based on your nominations, one educator from each St. Vrain Valley school will be selected as their school’s Educator of the Year. These honorees will be recognized during the Celebration of Excellence on April 10th, where a district-wide Educator of the Year will also be announced.

Nominations are open January 12 through February 1. Don’t miss this opportunity to recognize the educators who make a lasting impact in our schools and community!

Love, History, and Heart at the Library

February is a busy and beautiful month at the Grand View Elementary Library! This month, our students will be exploring all the ways we can show love to the world around us.

To celebrate Black History Month and Valentine’s Day, we have a special lineup of fun crafts and inspiring stories. Our lessons will highlight how incredible people and events from the past have shaped our future and continue to influence our world today. Whether we are crafting “messages of kindness” or diving into historical biographies, we are focusing on how love and courage can change the world.

Hug-N-Go Lane

When dropping your students off in the Hug-N-Go Lane, we need families to pull through to the south end of the lane. This will help alleviate the traffic on Aggregate Blvd and help students get to school on time. Please have your students ready with backpacks and other belongings so they can just be dropped off. If you want to get out of the car and help your students, please park in the front parking lot and help them get ready. The HUG-N-GO Lane needs to be quick and easy for all families. Also, please pay attention to the cars trying to get out of the HUG-N-GO Lane so we can allow others to go through the lane. We appreciate your attention to this matter and continued support to keep our students and families safe.

Reminder of Hug-N-Go Expectations from 8:45am-9:05am and 3:30pm-3:50pm

No parking in any area of the lane. If you need to help your child out/in the car, need to watch them walk into the building, would like to watch them until the bell rings, any scenario besides a quick drop off please utilize the parking lot.

Please pull all the way forward. This ensures that we are able to fit as many cars as possible into the drop off lane. Abrupt stopping or not pulling all the way forward can not only cause accidents, but it holds up the rest of the line. We understand that it could be a lot to ask your children to walk further to the door. But following these expectations helps our herd as a whole by ensuring all our students are getting into the building quickly and efficiently. We appreciate everyone’s patience during these busy times! Remember when in doubt, park in the parking lot.

Reminders for Families:

  • Please remind your students they are not allowed to use electronic devices to call you during school hours. We would like them to come to the office to call parents, if necessary. This will help us to provide the right amount of support for your student. All cell phones need to be kept in their backpacks
  • If at any time you need to get a hold of your student, please call the front office and we will contact your student during school hours.
  • If you are picking up your student during school hours, you must present a photo ID. Please remember to report your child’s absence or tardy to 303-702-8000 or email: [email protected]
  • Our office staff is always available to answer your questions- 303-702-8000

$10 Materials Fees are due as soon as possible. Fees can be paid at the front office either by cash or check or sent with your child to give to the classroom teacher.  This fee is required for every student in Grades K-5.

Thank you!
